4 red onions

40 ml vegetable oil

1 tbsp sugar

1 puff pastry

100 g gruyère

100 g cheddar

2 sprigs thyme

To caramelise the onions, add the oil to the metal bowl and run the program.

Now add the sliced onions and run the program. Remove the cap. Every now and again scrape down the sides and wipe the water from the lid.

Now add the sugar to the onions and allow to run again for another 10 mins.

Roll out the pastry and score 2cm from each edge. Sprinkle on the cheese, onions and thyme and bake for 25-30 minutes at 190 °C until golden.
