Heat oven to 180°C.
Grease tin.

Roughly chop the butter and put it into the metal bowl. Run the program to soften the butter.

Add 40ml milk, the vanilla pod (split in two and scraped) and the other ingredients.
Run the program.
- 370 g plain flour
- 1 tbsp of baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 vanilla pod
- 70 ml of milk
- 5 eggs
- 250 g of sugar

Put half the mixture into tin and leave other half in bowl.

Add 30ml milk and the cocoa powder into the metal bowl and run the program.

Pour the chocolate cake mixture on top of cake mixture already in tin and swirl with a fork to create a marble effect.

Cook cake for 50 minutes at 180°C.

Before removing cake from oven, insert a skewer into centre. The cake is cooked when the skewer comes out clean.
Turn out onto a cooking rack and leave to cool.

Clean the metal bowl and then melt the chocolate in it by running the program.

Spread the icing on cake.
The cake is ready to eat as soon as icing has hardened.
