Small saucepan

4 people

500 ml freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

125 ml orange juice (optional)

125 g caster sugar

125 ml water

1 scotch bonnet (optional)

100 g milk/ dark chocolate (optional)

RECIPE STEPS
1
Place your sugar and water in a small saucepan, along with your scotch bonnet if you're using. Place on a low heat and stir to combine. Wait until your sugar melts and the syrup starts to bubble and then take off the heat. Set aside to cool.
  • 125 g caster sugar
  • 125 ml water
2
Juice your grapefruits, and add the orange juice if you're using, then strain through a sieve. If you're using the Magimix Extra Press XL Kit Accessory to juice, no need to sieve.
  • 500 ml freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 125 ml orange juice (optional)
3
Remove the scotch bonnet from the sugar syrup after 15 minutes, and finely chop if you wish to add it into the sorbet, the flecks of red are a nice touch.
  • 1 scotch bonnet (optional)
4
In a medium mixing bowl add your sugar syrup, grapefruit juice, orange juice and scotch bonnet if using, and stir to combine.
5
Set aside in the fridge to chill.
6
Once chilled, place your mixture in the Gelato Expert and churn on the sorbet setting until ready.
7
While churning, melt some dark or milk chocolate in a small bowl over a pan of barely simmering water, making sure the water doesn't touch the bowl. Once melted, set aside.
8
Serve up your sorbet and pour your melted chocolate over, and serve. Enjoy!
