Preheat the oven to 180°C (gas mark 4).

Fit the slicer disc in the bowl and slice the potatoes and turnips separately. ]
Empty the bowl
Grate the Gruyere cheese, using the 2mm grater disc.
- 4 potatoes
- 75 g of gruyère
- 5 turnips

Rub the gratin dish with the garlic clove and butter it thoroughly. Arrange alternating slices of potato and turnip, adding a little butter, salt, pepper, nutmeg and grated cheese between each layer. You should end up with several layers.
- 100 g butter
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 1 garlic clove

Pour the milk-cream mixture over the dish, making sure it permeates the different layers.
- 250 ml of crème fraîche
- 250 ml milk

Bake in the oven for 40 minutes, switching on the grill for the last 3 minutes in order to give it a golden crust.
