RECIPE STEPS

Add all the pastry ingredients into the bowl fitted with the dough hook.
Switch on the machine and run for 30 seconds until the dough forms a ball.
- 225 g plain flour
- 100 g butter
- 80 g icing sugar
- 1 egg

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it briefly (pushing the ball away from you twice with the palms of your hands) so that it will roll out without cracking (it must not be too cold).

Wrap the dough in cling film, flatten it and refrigerate for 1 hour before using it.

Roll out the dough and transfer to a cake or tart tin. Bake for 15 minutes at 180°C.
Leave it to cool.

Split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scoop out the seeds with a knife.

Pour the cream into the bowl fitted with the whisk.
Run for about 5 minutes, remembering to remove the cap.

When the cream is firm, add the sugar and the vanilla seeds.
Run for another 10 seconds. Set aside the whipped cream in a bowl.
- 1 vanilla pod
- 50 g icing sugar

Spread the dulce de leche over the cooled pastry.
Slice the banana and then place them on top of the dulce de leche.
- 3 bananas
- 125 g dulce de leche

Pour the whipped cream over the bananas. Use a peeler to shave the dark chocolate. Sprinkle the chocolate shavings on top of the banoffee pie before serving.
